Lydia: A Story of Philippi tells the story of Lydia and the other early Christians in the Philippian church. Based on Acts 16 and Paul’s Epistle to the Philippians, the story fills in the gaps to imagine what life might have been like in a New Testament-era church, as Greek, Roman and Jewish converts find their lives transformed by the message of Jesus. As they struggle to overcome racial, class and gender differences to form a community where everyone is truly “one in Christ Jesus,” Paul’s advice to “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” becomes an everyday reality.
